There are lots of things I look forward to in March as spring nears, like melting snow, daffodils, warmer sunny days, and… the PA SHPO Annual Report!
We publish this report each year to highlight the growing list of activities, accomplishments, and preservation outcomes across the Commonwealth. We share it with Pennsylvanians, our agency and organizational partners, our state legislators, and our federal legislators when we travel to Washington, D.C. each year for National Historic Preservation Advocacy Week.

In it you’ll find:
- some brief information about the PA SHPO office, our funding, and programs,
- a synopsis of activities for the state and federal programs we administer, and
- feature stories about how PA SHPO’s work educates, records, advises, supports, and commemorates Pennsylvania’s older and historic places.
I was going to share a bit of the stories here, but I’d really love for you to read the annual report and see for yourself.
