Another PA-SHARE 2.0 Update

Logo

I’m excited to share some exciting new improvements to PA-SHARE. If you’re keeping track, this is the fifth major round of improvements and bug fixes to PA-SHARE and Surveyor as part of our PA-SHARE 2.0 investment.

Photo Gallery

You may recall that any photos attached to a resource, project, survey, or marker record were contained in a grid near the bottom of the page. While you could view snapshots in the grid for most images, users couldn’t easily open and scroll through the series.

The photo grid has now been replaced with a photo gallery tab. The “Photos” tab is located at the upper left corner of the screen with the other record tabs. From this tab, you can easily view a single photo and its details, scan all of the available photos, scroll through images, pop them out in a new tab, and single or batch download.

Two notes about this new feature:

The new photo gallery tab. To open the photo in a new tab, click the small icon in the upper right corner (top right arrow). To scroll through the photos, click the forward arrow on either side of the image (bottom right arrow). Scroll down the screen to see image information below the displayed photo.

Mapped Open Projects

All open projects are now mapped in PA-SHARE. Previously, only open Environmental Review projects were shown as Areas of Potential Effect and/or Limits of Disturbance.

Now, all open projects are shown as bright green dotted lines on one of three layers in the PASHAREMAP group that can be turned on or off: Open Project – Above Ground, Open Project – Archaeological, and Open Project – District. This includes historic tax credit projects, determinations of eligibility, National Register nominations, and success stories.

All open projects in PA-SHARE are now mapped, showing a fuller and more accurate picture of PA SHPO’s work.

The open project lines follow the resource boundaries. Information about the open project is available in the map pop-up. Remember, only project contacts can view a project record.

These new map layers are available only to Pro, Business, and Public Subscription users.

Other Changes

Here are a few other notable changes in this latest release:

New flag on resources that contribute to a historic district. In this example, the historic district is light yellow and the resource highlighted in light blue in the middle of the map.

As always, if you have any questions or problems with PA-SHARE, please contact the Help Desk at pashare@pa.gov.
