Description of Work
As an Environmental Review, Streamlining Coordinator in the Environmental Review Division, you will assist in streamlining the Section 106 and the State History Code review process. Work involves managing digital archaeological collections data and building policies/procedures to streamline internal and external artifact disposition and curation processes for state and federal projects. Archaeological research experience, including but not limited to compliance-related field work and artifact analysis in the U.S.; knowledge of state and federal preservation programs, regulations, and legislation; as well as consistency with the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards will enable you to manage projects effectively. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Commonwealth agencies to assist in the creation of cultural resource management plans and programs that include archaeology collections from Commonwealth lands. Additionally, you will be responsible for participating in the creation and management of a comprehensive database for archaeological collection records that will enable electronic submission of data.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience working on an architectural survey, an architectural restoration and preservation project or program, and a bachelor’s degree in architectural history, American history, art history or course work in Pennsylvania history; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must meet or exceed the Secretary of the Interior’s (SOI) minimum professional qualification standards to work as an archaeologist. Standards can be found here.
- You must have experience advising and assisting state and federal agencies, organizations, and/or individuals with the consideration of historic properties and archaeological sites in their project planning.
- You must have experience interpreting and applying National Park Service guidance to evaluate historic properties for eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
- You must have experience in public outreach, education, and public speaking.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Excellent computer and word processing skills using MS Office products and data management systems such as PA-SHARE
- Ability to work well with a team of individuals and independently

Work Schedule and Additional Information
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with the exception of site visits/field work, leadership meetings and one (1) day a month in the office in Harrisburg. Specific days will be determined according to bureau needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
